Dr Anne Peirson-Smith is a Director of Executive Counsel Limited and also is an Associate Professor lecturing in Public Relations and Marketing Communication in the Department of English, City University of Hong Kong. She is also involved in communication-related training consultancy for Executive Counsel Limited and research work in Hong Kong, Asia and the UK.

In 1999, Anne was awarded the Excellence in Practice Awards, American Society for Training and Development for the professional training programme, Selling to the Board: Developing the Persuasive Writing Skills of Company Executives.

Since 1990, Anne has been teaching, researching, and training in organisational communication, public relations, media relations, advertising and persuasive communication, for numerous international clients in both government and industry.

Anne regularly enjoys examining the rhetorical language of sound in advertising and films as a persuasive device, has a passion for fashion and can be seen sleuthing around South East Asia investigating cultural implications of new technology.
