Tim founded Executive Counsel Limited in 2003. Trained as a scientist, in the 1970s and 1980s, it has been said that Tim was on the first wave of environmental consultancy in the United Kingdom, specialising in public consultation for mega projects, but has sported neither a beard nor sandals, in public.
Always prescient, Tim arrived in Hong Kong in 1990 to announce the dawn of green awareness in Asia and advise Government on environment and public engagement and consultation. He then joined ERM to establish the environmental consequence of most of the decade's major infrastructure projects, including the new international airport, railways and port developments, and Hong Kong Disneyland. After a hard day in the office, he gladly faces the community and NGOs in public consultation programmes.
Tim has developed an enviable reputation in public affairs, government relations and brand building, working with Asian conglomerates and multinational corporations. Tim provides advice to executives and company boards throughout Asia, and acts as a conduit between corporate and government worlds to build and protect brands. Tim is guest University lecturer in these areas and happily lectures on consensus building, whenever asked.
Tim wears white shirts and dark suits during the week and does not excel at, running, swimming, golf or tennis and is still grappling to learn to play his beloved ukulele. His project from October 2010 is to keep bees, for honey, in his rooftop bee farm. Tim is currently the Chairman of the Business Policy Unit of The British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. <<MORE>>
